Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2020

Hey lovelies!

Mother’s Day is this weekend, and it’s an important holiday to me. Not necessarily for gifts – I give my mom gifts all the time. It doesn’t have to be a certain day! But it’s a day to honor my mother – and my grandma.

I’ve talked about my grandma a bit when recapping my trip to Ukraine. My parents got married when they were young, and still working a lot. So I spent a lot of time with my grandparents when I was growing up! I even used to call my grandma BaMa – a combination of the word Babyshka and Mama.

I felt like she was my 2nd mom!

After all my mom was just 19 when I was born, and it felt like she was my sister and my grandma was our mom!

My grandma currently lives in the Ukraine still. I finally went to visit the first time in six years last May. Before, I was prevented by the war in eastern Ukraine so it wasn’t safe to travel. When I was able to go finally, it took me two flights and a 17-hour train ride! Totally worth it, and I would do it again.

In fact, I wanted to go this year, but I can’t because of COVID-19 and travel restrictions.
