Hey, lovelies!
Earlier this month I jet-setted to New York for my favorite occasion of the year, New York Fashion Week!
It was a week jam-packed with celebrity sightings, amazing shows, and fashion everywhere I looked! I rounded up some of my favorite pictures and thoughts from the standout shows I attended. Buckle up, because we have a lot of fashion to cover!
Best of NY Fashion Week 2020
1. Namilia
Namilia was one of the shows I was most excited to see, and it did not disappoint! Nan Li and Emilia Pfohl, the Berlin designers behind this brand made waves from their very first collection “My Pussy, My Choice” in 2015, and they haven’t let up!
Their Fall/ Winter 2020 collection “Herotica” sent a powerful message about Asian stereotypes in porn, as well as empowering women’s sexuality. I later found out that a bunch of the models walking in the show were actually Pornhub stars!
The show was a fascinating mix of traditional kimonos blended or deconstructed with dominatrix leather.
It definitely took the usual tropes of “demure, submissive” Asian women in porn and turned it on its head.
I couldn’t be more obsessed with the message!
Speaking of obsessed, did I mention I ran into Youtube legend Patrick Starr at the show? 😍
Check out some of the images I snagged from the front row.
All in all, I loved how much the Namilia show represented a lot of GRL power, and freedom. It had so many bright colors too!
The Pussy Coin Purse and Dickini Top are some of my Namilia favorites.
2. Just In XX
I was lucky enough to attend the Just In XX show on Day 2 of NY Fashion Week. This Fall/ Winter 2020 collection was heavily influenced by a contemporary minimalist artist (Tsong Pu) and is titled “Double Imprint.”
I could clearly see the influence in the geometric patterns and shapes – no curve-hugging silhouettes here!
What stunned me about a lot of the looks below is the digital print patterns and three-dimensional textures. Plus the colors!
You know what they say, tweed never goes out of style.
I also snagged a picture with Chris Lavish! 👉
3. Global Fashion Collective
I’m always excited when I see a Global Fashion Collective show on the list! Global Fashion Collective handpicks designers from across the world to show their collections in one show.
Not only do you get to see the contrast in styles, talent, and perspective, you also get a bunch of shows in one. More fashion? You know I’d never say no!
Featured in the Global Fashion Collective lineup for Fall Winter 2020 was Alicia Perillo, The Arlo Studio, Gigi Wang, LAVEC, Shun Oyama, WooLeeXX, and WMTM by NiuNiu!

4. Noon by Noor
Noon by Noor is a NYFW veteran at this point, and I love the ready-to-wear, understated elegance of their collections.
In the latest, there were lots of creamy whites and ivories, flattering neutrals and a touch of the ’80s and ’90s in cuts and silhouettes!
There were also some white transparent lace tops that I adored – see them below!
5. Christian Cowan
I’d be lying if I told you this wasn’t the show I was most excited to see, and it did NOT disappoint.
Christian Cowan is a UK designer adored by celebrities, and I can absolutely see why JLo, Mariah Carey, and glam queens love him.
His F/W 2020 collection was dripping with luxury. In fact, that was the inspiration of his show – displays of power through luxury.
There were three main power inspirations – showing off wealth through luxury sports cars and material items, fireworks, and the natural world.
Patrick Starr didn’t exactly channel the natural world, but I still needed a picture with this amazing outfit!
Some have called it a royal safari, and that was definitely the vibe I got. It was full of gold, glitter, crystals, sequins and bright colors. You know, all of my faves!
Wrapping Up NYFW
Whew! 4 full days of shows really tires a girl out! It doesn’t sound like much, but I usually attend 2-3 shows a day and change my outfit and look for each!
Waking up at 7:00a and returning to the hotel at 11:00p is exhausting, but it’s so worth it! The sheer amount of outfits, fashion, and glam you see is enough to inspire you for a whole year… or, at least until the next Fashion Week!
Hope you enjoyed my recap lovelies, and let me know what shows you liked best below!
