#ThrowbackThursday: 80’s and 90’s Fashion is This Years Inspo

Hey lovelies!

If you caught my blog post earlier this week, you know that I’m seriously crushing on a ton of fashion trends that have come out for this year. Particularly, the Milan Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week styles!

Now NYFW really stayed in the subtle 80’s lane, but Milan Fashion Week decided to go bigger and better with loud splashes of 90’s color- we’re talking highlighter yellow, flourescent shades, the works. All of these were placed on designs, silhouettes and cuts that were decidedly 80’s, which created the perfect blend of decades-old fashion revived with a contemporary twist.

I’m not one to say I’m eager to revisit 80’s or 90’s fashion, but the artistic mashups that have come down the runway for Spring and Summer are making me second-guess that stance!

Colors

When you’re planning your on-trend wardrobe for this year, you’ve got choices between bright on bright, like Armani’s stunning lime green pantsuit with bright electric blue boots. Or, soft feminine pastels in baby blues and pinks melded together are on-trend!

Fabrics

Leather and faux-leather are everywhere -even in unexpected places! For example, high-waisted leather biker shorts showed practically everywhere.

For more evening-friendly fashion, silk and satin are big on the runway this year too! As always, dress it up with faux fur and feathers!

Prints

Polka-dot and abstract prints are the designers dream this year. Another must-have print? Zebra.

Let me know what Spring/Summer 2019 fashion trend you’re most excited about this year on social or in the comments!
