Let’s Talk About Botox

Hey, lovelies!

I have a policy about being completely honest about products I use, including beauty, skincare, makeup, hair, and BOTOX. Yes, that’s right, BOTOX!

I’m a huge advocate for women (and men) feeling confident and comfortable in their own skin. I don’t believe anyone should be shamed for undergoing procedures that make them feel 10x better when they’re out in the world and looking in the mirror – after all, it’s a form of self-expression!

I’ve been getting BOTOX regularly since I was 26. I usually receive about 40 units each time, targeting my forehead, my eyebrows, the corners of my eyes and the top of my lip. I used to be very self-conscious about how deep-set my eyes were, and felt my features were a bit of out-of-balance.

The targeted BOTOX helps give my eyes a wide-open, lifted appearance that I love. It also combats wrinkles and smile lines – oftentimes women in their late 20’s will begin preventative BOTOX in these areas – that is, filling those wrinkles before they can widen and deepen with age! BOTOX in targeted areas can also relieve migraines and depression, which is wild to me!

I was referred to AYA Medical Spa in Phipps Plaza (Atlanta) by a friend, and I’ve been going there ever since! Lauren handles my injections, and I won’t trust anyone else!

The most common question that comes up in conversation is if it hurts. BOTOX doesn’t hurt. It stings a tiny bit when you receive the injection, but if your aesthetician is skilled (as Lauren is) you may not even feel it! I don’t suffer any side effects personally. Usually, I’ll begin seeing results within 3-4 days, with the full results apparent by two weeks. It lasts about 3 to 4 months before it wears off.
