3 Tips to Help You Avoid Social Media Burnout

Hello lovelies!

One of my big focuses this year is being more present and mindful. As I’ve looked into ways to be more present and enjoy each moment, a common theme has come up : social media burnout.

Social media and online presence play a huge role in most of our lives, and sometimes, we get so wrapped up in it that we begin to lose ourselves in a curated version of life. As a fashion influencer, I’ve felt this pretty heavily in previous years.

This year, I’m working to change that, and I hope you do too!

I’ll be completely truthful with you: I’ve sometimes struggled with anxiety and depression as a surprising amount of bloggers do! We’re always glued to our phones, responding to comments, keeping an eye on stats and working to grow our base and create useful content for our followers. This means we spend less time with our families – and even when we’re with family, we’re not fully engaged.

Here are some of the things I’m implementing in 2019 to live more mindfully and avoid social media burnout. I challenge you to try one or even all of these to begin to rebalance your life if you’ve felt a little too sucked into the “Instaworthy Life!”

  1. Structure Your Social Media Time– These days, I carefully plan when I’m going to put a post up, and a few times a day where I give myself space to check comments, reply and interact with you, my amazing followers! Once the times up, I log out and refocus on whatever I’m doing with my day. This feels so freeing after months of constantly checking every few minutes for any new activity!
  2. Be Ruthless About Who You’re Following– Instagram is noisy. There is so much content every second, and it can really confuse you! Seeing curated content gives you all this envy, wistfulness, inspires creativity, jealousy, and a dozen other strong emotions and sensations in a blink of an eye. I’ve carefully cut back on who I’m following and what I see in my feed. This helps clarify my interests and cuts out “noise” in a barrage of content!
  3. Make Sure You’re Being Authentically You– I’ve had to remind myself a few times over the past year of what my core mission and interest is- and that is, of course, fashion, makeup, and style. I never want to lose my core mission in a sea of social media possibility. Therefore, I always keep my core interest and what I believe I bring to the table that is of value to my followers instead of trying to be all things to all people.

My New Fashion Obsession

Hey lovelies!

I’ve found another go-to affordable fashion secret that I can’t wait to share with you.

Just like the next girl, I love to make a daring statement in show-stopping evening dress or party outfit. However, frugal me has trouble justifying a few hundred dollars on a gown that I will probably only wear once!

However, I don’t have to worry about that with my new dress obsession – the Red Dress Boutique.

The Give Her All The Roses Maxi

Don’t get me wrong- the Red Dress Boutique sells a ton of clothing items, accessories and even swimwear. However, their evening dresses are one of my latest obsessions, including two that I snagged recently for a few events.

For example, the Give Her All the Roses maxi dress that I’m wearing here. This beautiful dress manages to be sweet and feminine and daring and sexy at the same time. With plunging, strappy cleavage and a thigh-high slit hidden in the folds of the skirt, I’m in love.

How to Manifest a Man of Your Dreams

I hope you’re having an amazing holiday. It struck me as I was reflecting on the past year that the holidays can be a very lonely time for some, especially those who are still waiting for a partner.

As some of you may know, I’m a huge fan of The Secret. I believe in manifesting the things you want and need in your life. Therefore, if you’re feeling a little blue this holiday season because you haven’t met the right one yet, here are my tips to manifest the man of your dreams.

1. Know exactly what you want.

It’s important to be honest with yourself on exactly what you want. Don’t seek the guy you think your friends will like- your ideal mate should be suited to you!

2. Sit down and write down all the qualities and details that you want to have in your future man.

Keep it close to you on a piece of paper, or in the notes on your computer or phone.

3. You have to be very specific to every little detail.

Don’t be afraid to really get in the weeds on the details! Be careful and cautious to include every detail you can think of. You always have to be careful what you wish for, right? So if you focus all your energy on attracting a wealthy man and forget to account for generosity, the man might be stingy and uncharitable. That’s not very attractive!

4. Do not use don’t.

Use everything in present tense. Here’s an example. The man of my dreams loves me, cares about me, fulfills me emotionally, physically, financially, etc.

5. Picture it like it’s already happening.

Really sit down and meditate over the picture of what this man looks like and what your life with him will be like him. Don’t allow yourself to be interrupted by the thought that you don’t know what it will be like or any uncertainty. Work to really feel it like it’s real!

6. You should get excited thinking about it.

Infusing happiness and positive vibes into this mental image is crucial. This is why number  7 is very important.

7. Repeat this exercise only in positive moods.

If you’re in a bad mood, don’t work on these exercises. You should only be happy and excited to visualize this life, and negative feelings may permeate the vision and your future mate!

8. Be clear about which flaws you are ready to accept.

Nobody is perfect. Hoping for a mate who is absolutely flawless isn’t realistic. Instead, consider the flaws that you’d be willing to accept and those that are just hard nos.

9. Let go of your past.

As hard as it may be, you should wait to do this exercise until you have absolutely no feelings left for your ex anymore. Easier said than done, but holding onto disappointed love just gets in the way of new energy coming into your life. It just gets in your way.


Visualizing the type of man I want to be with and what kind of relationship will fulfill me has been tough for me before. Sometimes I didn’t wish correctly, missed certain details or didn’t think hard enough about the bad stuff like flaws! However, I’ve fine-tuned my approach, and I’m happy to say it has worked better than ever. 🙂 Good luck, and happy manifesting!

Fighting Fall Fatigue

A chill is in the air, and autumn storms are rolling in. As the leaves start falling this season, you may notice your energy levels dropping too! Fall fatigue is not uncommon, but I’m sharing some of my tried-and-true ways to fight that lazy, tired-all-the-time feeling we get as the year winds down.


Here are my fatigue-fighting tips!


Break a Sweat

One of the best ways to fight that tired feeling is to exercise! If you’re badly in need of a refresher, sign up for a new class you’ve never tried before. If you just can’t find the time in your schedule to go to the gym or take a fitness class, put on your favorite sneakers and go for a walk or jog in the park. Once you begin working up a sweat and get your circulation working, you’ll lose that fatigue quickly.

Drink Plenty of Water

As temperatures cool down, we often forget to hydrate as we should. Dehydration zaps energy and leaves us feeling sluggish, so it’s especially important to drink our eight ounces of water, eight times a day. If you drink enough water every day, you’ll be amazed by the health benefits. The least of these is a new rush of energy to carry you through the day!

Tuck in Early and Ditch the Phone

We’re all guilty of scrolling through Facebook and Instagram in bed while we’re waiting to feel tired. However, staring at your phone can make falling asleep even harder, and you’ll wind up losing hours of potential sleep. Make a point to put your phone on the charger and pick up a book instead. Putting bedtime routines in place to wind down, relax and get to sleep earlier will increase your energy during the day.

Is Something Fishy? Just Your Vitamins!

If you’re not a fan of seafood, it’s time to learn to love our fishy friends. Fish oil is filled with nutrients that help our brain stay alert and lessen reaction times. When you add plenty of Omega-3s to your diet, you’ll notice you feel much less fatigued throughout the day.

Can’t stand fish? That’s okay, most drugstores and major retailers stock fish oil supplements in the vitamin and medicines aisle.

Eat Often

Now before you go overboard, understand that it’s better for your blood sugar levels to eat six smaller meals throughout the day than three large ones. By consistently grazing on small meals throughout the day, you’ll keep your body and mind alert and level. Have you ever noticed you suddenly need a nap after a big, carb-heavy meal? You won’t have to worry about that when breaking your meals into smaller portions throughout the day.
